High Distinction

Just wanted to let you know that I have got the top mark (high distinction) for my MA Fine Art Photography…. Your online gallery gave me the chance to show the work as I would like it to be curated! Thank you for that!

Student Curated Exhibitions

Eastern Michigan University will feature a student group’s exhibition at a Design Expo on Campus later this semester.

Exhibbit is an effective, engaging platform for students to conduct independent research and creatively curate exhibitions.

Our simple drag and drop system makes it easy to try out different curation styles. Once an artwork has been placed on a wall you are able to preview it in the gallery immediately. This is a quick and simple way to view the positioning of your artworks, wall text, graphics and the design aspect of each exhibition presentation, such as colouring the gallery.

Multimedia Exhibitions

Stream video onto the gallery walls. As a curators talk, an interview with the artist or to curate an exhibition of purely video art.

Stream music or a sound track to play as your visitors arrive. These can be started by your viewers, or triggered by artwork proximity - a powerful tool which allows the distance to be set within which the audio or video will play.

In the example shown the video begins playing when visitors first enter the gallery. A Harvard professor introduces the exhibition and her narrative is placed on the wall next to the video.

World Art Day

World Art Day is an annual event established by the International Art Association and UNESCO. It has become a vibrant showcase for students at St. Jude’s International Primary School.

Through close collaboration among teachers, these young artists exhibit their work alongside peers from around the globe, fostering an international sense of community. Exhibbit’s secure, robust platform ensured a safe and rewarding virtual experience for all involved.

Exhibitions for a Local Audience

The Artist in us, showcases artworks done in semester 1 and had contributions from every class at Greendale primary school. When the school invited families and local community to view this exhibition online, it created a wonderful opportunity for students to share their artworks.

For sharing privately with parents and community, use the pre-formatted exhibition invitation, where up to 100 email addresses can be added at once.

A peek into the curation process

Curation is as simple as dragging the artwork, graphic, text block or video onto a wall.

There are options for framing your artwork and also different canvas shapes and depths to choose from.

Select ‘Pin to Eyeline’ to automatically position works on a wall or switch on Grid to accurately position artworks and create salon hangs as well as other grid formats with ease.

You can access and hang individual walls by scrolling through the smaller wall images then dragging the works from the Content area onto the large version of the selected wall.

Choose a different colour for a feature wall to accent or break up the show. Walls can be coloured all together and individually.

Preview in 3D

Once an artwork has been placed on a wall you are able to Preview it in the 3D gallery immediately.

This is a quick and simple way to view the adjustments you make while curating your exhibition, like the positioning of your artworks, adding wall text, graphics and colouring the gallery.

Choose a ‘Hero Artwork’ to begin the exhibition viewing. When the gallery has loaded visitors are placed in front of your hero artwork.

Navigating the Gallery

Exhibbit places huge importance on creating smooth movement around the gallery and providing navigation that allows the close inspection of artworks while maintaining control.

Sensitive to the human experience, moving around an Exhibbit gallery is more natural than any other virtual gallery. Exhibbit’s navigation enables visitors to move very slowly as well as moderately fast. Click on a work from across the room to be placed in front of it. Get up close and you’re able to move across an artwork sideways as well as up and down. To ensure a good experience, contextual guides are provided for new visitors.
